Tobacco Control Programme
Tobacco Control programme is a tobacco control and prevention programme, and works towards transforming children into empowered leaders. The programme uses Tobacco Control as a medium to teach children Life Skills like problem solving, decision making, refusal skills, leadership, self confidence and communication building.
The Tobacco Control Programme also advocates with the state government to strengthen the implementation of tobacco control laws and regulations such as COTPA Act 2003 of India, running of sustainable tobacco control programmes and making the city of Kolkata and ultimately the state of West Bengal , tobacco free.
The Skills@School programme has been designed to integrate vocational education at the school level. The programme motivates children to stay in school and undergo skills trainings (hardware & networking, mobile repairing, electronics & robotics, jewellery designing, beauty & wellness, and graphic designing. By providing 21st century employability skills, students are better equipped to gain part-time employment to assist their families and contribute towards their own education. Once students complete their education, they will have the tools and training to enter the formal, skill-based economy or continue their education in the selected vocation. It equips them to create a sustainable career after graduation from college.
Financial Literacy Project : This project aims to develop and create financial awareness among students so that they learn to utilize the money earned in a wiser and efficient way throughout each stage of their lives. These students undergo training in Financial Literacy based on a SEBI module. It encourages school students to acquire basic financial skills necessary to make informed, effective and empowered financial decisions throughout their lives.
Communicative English Project: This project is providing an opportunity to the 8th Grade students of Government Schools to learn English without any fees. Due to lack of efficient teaching methods, English remains a difficult subject for them. Our Communicative English Project aims to develop English Speaking, along with etiquette and presentation skills among the students.
